Tying One On, part 2

In my last blog post I showed you the method that I use for attaching my warp sections to the warp beam of my looms for back-to-front warping. In that post I mentioned that I have tried many different methods over the years and have only recently come to the way that I am currently using.

By contrast, I came across the system that I use for tying my warp on to the front apron rod on my looms sometime back in the 1980’s, and have been so happy with it that I have been using it consistently ever since. As I recall, I read about this in a letter that a reader had written in to Handwoven magazine, and that she called it the ‘click trick’. I don’t remember who wrote the letter or where she had come across this method, but once I tried it I never went back to any other way of tying my warps on at the front.

Rather than trying to explain this system and photographing every little step along the way, I thought it would be easier to make a little video of the process and share it with you. I’m sure you already have your own method for tying your warps on at the front, but you might want to give this a try and see what you think.

I hope you enjoy it and have perfect tension on all your warps!
